Natural Addiction Recovery
(NAR) Pilot Program
For decades, scientific studies have been reporting on the benefits of healthy and nutritious foods, herbs and supplements. You may have heard that Vitamin C is good for limiting colds and boosting the immune system, or that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables have cancer-fighting abilities, or that garlic can kill infectious organisms as well as lower blood pressure and cholesterol. If these and other foods, supplements and herbs nourish the body and counteract significant threats to health, might they also possess the capacity to help us in more far-reaching and beneficial ways than society as a whole has yet to realize and accept? The owner of 2 Your Health has discovered, through personal experiences and an overwhelming amount of research, that the answer to this question is a resounding yes! Using a natural approach, the owner of 2 Your Health was able to recover from life threatening toxicity and an exhausting list of debilitating health symptoms. This experience taught the owner how to help the body rid itself of poisons and strengthen the immune system using an all-natural approach. As a result, 2 Your Health has developed an innovative, all-natural addiction recovery support program that relies on science-supported food and nutrition along with other types of complementary holistic therapies.
2 Your Health is implementing a pilot program designed to establish further scientific evidence of the effectiveness of nutritionally dense foods along with mental/physical/spiritual and creative therapies in helping people overcome addiction to drugs. This comprehensive program involves qualified experts and therapeutics that support the body’s own detoxification, nourishment and healing abilities without the use of medication.
The pilot will ideally include 12 voluntary participants. Participants will be required to have stable living arrangements and will be thoroughly screened and selected based on a strong desire to be free from the use of destructive substances. The selection process is designed to improve the probability of success since this program is largely non-residential, and thus each participant’s willingness to follow through is key. The goal is not to compel anyone, but to offer an effective answer to the yearning of individuals who demonstrate the commitment, drive and desire to be free from their addictions. Phase I of the program is 12-weeks and will require very active participation. Phase II will also be 12-weeks but will require less time than Phase I. The pilot will also include documenting, data collection and reporting on the process and results.
This pilot program is expected to demonstrate that an all-natural holistic approach to addiction recovery can provide relief from cravings for opioids, alcohol and other addictive substances as well as help to improve a person’s overall physical, mental and spiritual well-being. A natural approach can help meet the current urgent need for an effective alternative response to addiction. A successful pilot would provide an energizing communication and marketing tool and raise awareness about the effectiveness of holistic and nutrition-focused methods to combat addiction. The results of preliminary evidence-based research conducted in partnership with Trinity College as well as the positive outcomes of a small practical experiment involving nicotine addiction have also provided strong indications of the efficacy of this program. This multi-faceted approach is designed to have a long-term positive impact in people’s lives, which is a fundamental goal of 2 Your Health. Therefore, it is our goal to conduct the pilot study and gather the data that proves the program’s effectiveness for various types of addictions and then make it widely available to the public to help stem the tide of the disheartening addiction crisis we are currently facing. Most or all pilot program costs will be covered by 2 Your Health, therefore, we welcome monetary contributions towards the program’s implementation.
In Connecticut: When 2 people die per day of a drug overdose and you are more likely to die from drugs than from a motor vehicle accident or from gunshots…When less than half of those who need treatment are receiving it and the relapse rate is estimated to be 40 to 60% or higher…When 2017 statistics ranked Connecticut 9th in opioid overdose deaths and we continue to have one the highest addiction and overdose death rates in the nation…When overdose death counts were [357 in 2012], [1038 in 2017], [1017 in 2018], [1200 in 2019] and [1372 in 2020, 14.3% higher than 2019]…then something other than the usual needs to be done. For these and other reasons, please consider participating in and or financially supporting our efforts to spearhead this potentially life-saving endeavor!
